1 Tip That Will Keep You Warm During Winter

For me, this isn’t really a trick or tip, this is something that I just grew up with. I never really thought much about it until I realized that none of my friends did this and I was always a lot warmer than them. This tip is extremely simple and obvious so may have thought of it already, but in case you haven’t here is the tip: Wear an undershirt! Okay, I know some of you are thinking that it is stupid and uncomfortable to wear another layer. But undershirts are skin tight so they aren’t visible when you wear them under your shirt, hence the name undershirt. Here are the pros to wearing an undershirt in the wintertime:

• since they are skin tight they trap air in and keep you warm throughout the day

• if you are like me, that’s means you hate when you lift your arms when you are outside and all the cold air rushes in your jacket, and the part of uncovered skin freezes. Well the undershirt will insure that your whole torso will be covered

• If you are at someone’s house and get hot all of a sudden because of your sweater, you can always take off your sweater and chill in your undershirt ( which is really just a spaghetti strapped tank top)

This tip may not seem the best but I guarantee that you will love this if you give it a chance.

Introduction

Welcome to O so vogue!!

Last year I went through a bit of a life changing event: I got robbed in a foreign country where they stole my passport and all my money. As you can imagine getting back home wasn’t the easiest! I was very stressed and panicked because I couldn’t get on an airplane without my passport even if I could’ve found the money to buy another ticket. Obviously I managed to get back home, and even though I was very scared I made the extra days that I stayed in that country more fun than my whole vacation before the incident! I don’t know why but I felt stronger and more confident after getting robbed! I really don’t know why, when I think about it I realize that I should have gotten more scared of life and lost some confidence. I love telling this story because it is a part of me now. So I made this blog because I want to help people live a more fit, fashionable, and healthy lifestyle so that you can gain the confidence I have, without getting robbed! Enough talking about my story, here is an overview of what type of posts I will be posting:

Fashion: Do you ever have those days where you just can’t decide what to wear? Well, your in luck because my blog will have plenty of tips and tricks, ootd’ s, outfit inspirations and more! I will also follow trends and make sure to blog and give you my opinion of them! Pretty much anything fashion related will be posted. If you ever have any idea about what I should post, make sure to comment!
Make up: Makeup reviews and tutorial posts. My favorites and recommendations, almost of my makeup is very affordable as I am only a student and cannot afford many high end make up products 🙁
Beauty: I love painting my nails and doing my hair so I will make sure to always post stuff about beauty in general.
Fitness: I recently improved my fitness level ( and am still trying) so I will make sure to post about what works what doesn’t what I did, favorite exercises, and many little tips that will get you whipped up in shape with almost no effort ( because I know that many people do not have time to exercise daily)!
Recipes: I will post many recipes of healthy but very tasty food ( of course there will be cheat meals as well) that doesn’t take hours in the kitchen and are very basic because I must admit that I myself am n the greatest chef. So if I can make these pretty much anyone can!

I know this was a long intro so I want to thank-you for staying with me the whole way through!:) Make sure to comment if you went through a life changing experience! And make sure to follow to see posts right when I publish them (I will post regularly on Mondays and Fridays)!

XOXO,

Kat

Inspiration of the Day

This is my inspiration of the day! This is a very simple and easy look to recreate. Even though it is very simple it still looks very elegant and chic at the same time. I love the way she accessorizes with the belt, infinity scarf, and the shoulder bag with gold details. Wearing lot’s of black can be wearing overwhelming sometime but she managed to make the overall look not to dark by wearing a white t-shirt and the burgundy scarf.

Challenge: Try making your own look similar to this by using the colors black, white, burgundy, and gold!

Winter Essentials – Elegant

It is getting colder and darker each day. Sadly because of this we have to dress a lot warmer and this proves to be an issue for many women. Although it can be a challenge, we will get through the negative temperatures and harsh wind by layering and wearing accessories that are made to keep you warm but also make sure that they keep you stylish.  Many of these products are easy to find so you can wear the exact ones in the picture or modify and find some similar ones to match your style! This will be a three part series to cover all styles. There will be a Winter Essentials – casual, elegant , and edgy. So keep checking back to see when the next ones come out!

If you are walking down the streets trying your best to look put together but freezing on the inside, then you should follow theses tips to get the best of both worlds!

Gloves: If you are going for a elegant look, leather gloves are a must have! They keep you warm because they are leather and look very stylish. You should go for neutral colors, reds, or if you are daring a light pink.

Hat: If it were up to me, I wouldn’t wear hats because I personally don’t like them, especially winter hats. Sadly, the wind and coldness is stronger than my willpower and I always end up wearing a hat. Choose hats that are more fitted or have a pretty pattern or material. I like crochet hats with some embellishments like the one in the picture.

Scarf: I did not include a scarf in this picture because that jacket has fur around the neck. Although if you have a jacket without the fur, than make sure your scarf matches your gloves and hat. Also make sure that they are all similar textures.

Boots: For a stylish look, you can never go wrong with ankle height boots with fur on top!

Jacket: The jacket in the picture is obviously very warm, the color paired with the fur around the neck makes it look very elegant and keeps you very warm. It is like having scarf around your neck but not actually wearing a scarf! There is a black belt that goes around your waist and accentuates it. It also keeps you warm. Lastly, the black buttons and other details like the drawstring at the bottom makes this look very elegant. With this jacket, you will be the best-looking and warmest women on the street.

Winter Essentials – Casual

Winter Must-Haves!!!

It is getting colder and darker each day. Sadly because of this we have to dress a lot warmer and this proves to be an issue for many women. Although it can be a challenge, we will get through the negative temperatures and harsh wind by layering and wearing aaccessoriesthat are made to keep you warm but also make sure that they keep you stylish.  Many of these products are easy to find so you can wear the exact ones in the picture or modify and find some similar ones to match your style! This will be a three part series to cover all styles. There will be a Winter Essentials – casual, elegant , and edgy. So keep checking back to see when the next ones come out!

So if you have a laid- back type of style, which I love for school or lazy week-ends, these are the essentials you will need!

Mittens: Mittens are a very simple accessory but they can look really nice when paired with other accessories. Also, they happen to be one the warmest type of glove so if this seems like your style, lucky you! Make sure to buy neutral colors, so grey, black, brown, salt and pepper, burgundy, all these colors should look great and match with anything!

Scarf: For a really laid back look, which is also obviously the comfiest and warmest, I suggest a circle scarf. Make sure to match the color of your circle scarf with your mittens and hat or if that isnt possible, if you stick to neutral colors all your accessories should match even if they are not the exact same color.

Hat: Beanies!!! Beanies are the ultimate laid- back hat! They keep you warm and look super cute on anyone. Since they became so popular, there are many different colors and patterns to choose from! Just make sure to stay in the neutral color palette.

Boots: My personal favorite boots are Sorels, I especially love the grey, black, and white model because they literally match anything!

Other: I really like wearing thick plaid shirts in the winter time because they can be worn many different ways (a post coming out about that soon!) and because they are great for layering. Plaid shirts are great for layering and look great and put together even though it is the easiest thing possible. My favorite type of plaid shirt is they type with the hood. You can find warm flannels with hoods at Forever 21.

I hope you enjoy these tips and stay really warm!
