Hi! My name is Kat and I’m the writer, photographer, stylist, manager, and just about everything else on this blog! I decided to create World My Way after reaching success with my old blog, OsoVogue. OsoVogue is a fashion blog and at the beginning of my journey I loved posting on it, but after a while, it felt more forced than something I was passionate about! This is because I could only write about fashion and beauty because that was my niche. While there is nothing wrong with being a fashion blogger and I loved doing it, I wanted my blog to be something that empowers, inspires and motivates people to be the best version of themselves in every way possible. That is why I created World My Way.
World My Way is a lifestyle blog where you will be able to find posts about fitness and health, fashion, personal development, and traveling. I believe that these four umbrella topics have the power to transform one’s life by installing confidence, feelings of physical strength, mental strength, and self-fulfillment. I hope World My Way will aid your journey in becoming the MOST powerful you, in every aspect of life.
Here is a little summary of every topic I chose to write about on World My Way and an explanation of why I chose to write about it!
I have always been OBSESSED with being efficient, as a matter of fact, efficiency is my favorite word! Ever since I was a little girl, I was extremely ambitious and entrepreneurial. I always had small business ventures and was always looking for ways to improve my mental strength. I spent hours researching how to memorize things quickly, how to be productive, etc. This is a topic that still greatly intrigues me! The brain is mindblowing ( HA! bad pun alert), it can do so many things and we only use a fraction of its power. There are many techniques to unlock hidden doors in your brain and become the most powerful you can be mentally. In this the Brain Hacks section, I will share research and techniques I have found and used. I also want to share some of the stress-relieving techniques and combatting depression techniques I learned during my cognitive therapy (to be explained below).
Even more important than unleashing brain power, I wanted to have this section to address something I am very passionate about; mental health. I am diagnosed with Tourette’s Syndrome, a neurological disorder. I also know far too many people who are depressed or have had an eating disorder. From my own experience, I know that having a mental disorder, whatever it may be, is extremely difficult and hard to relate to other people about it. Apart from addressing my thoughts on how society treats those with mental disorders I also want to be a source of motivation and inspiration for those who like me, have a mental disorder. In the motivation section, I will share my experiences and motivational posts for anyone who is feeling down or having a bad day. So if you want somebody to relate with, are interested in learning about my experience living with a mental disorder, or want some motivation to put your mind back to thinking positive thoughts and believing you can conquer the world, I urge you to hit up this section!
Falling in love with a healthy lifestyle is one of the main reasons I wanted to change my blog to be lifestyle. I have been working out for several years now, and while I am no professional by any means, I have definitely picked up some tips and tricks from my experiences and I plan to become a certified personal trainer in a few months! As most, I began working out because I was unhappy with my body, but I am proud to say that working out has an entirely different meaning for me now. I go to the gym for two main reasons; for skill and for the feelings of accomplishment and strength I have after working out.
When I say I train for skill, what I mean is that I train to learn new tricks and skills and not for looks. Now, if you’re wondering what sort of training I do, well… let’s just say that the proper question would be what don’t I do! I played rep volley-ball for a long time but then after some drama on the team, I left, not wanting to feel sad during something that should be so fun! I had a bit of an identity crisis for a bit where I was pretty inactive until I decided that it was time to start moving my lazy butt! I started my fitness journey by setting a goal to run 5 km and by doing BBG. I finished BBG and achieved my goal of running 5 km and then didn’t run again for 6 months because I realized CARDIO IS HARDIO! Although, running and BBG got me into the fitness mindset and I began going to the gym, instantly I knew lifting was for me. I was inconsistently going to the gym for about a year, being a beginner in a gym is not always easy, but I am proud to have started and kept going because it brought me to where I am now. Now I go to the gym at least 4 times a week, a parkour class once a week ( to practice front and backflips), and do yoga regularly. As you can see, I realized that fitness should be fun and about doing something you love! My training schedule allows me to practice yoga and parkour ( this is where most of those “skills” I want to learn are from, as well as going to the gym regularly to improve my strength, agility, and endurance!
Once you begin training for yourself and find joy in working out, in WHICHEVER form you prefer, that is when you will see a change in your physical appearance and your mental strength. The second reason I train is because of the feelings of accomplishment and strength I have after working out. Waking up sore the next morning or being drenched in sweat after a workout are some of the best parts of working out, it shows you that you have literally gotten stronger, are achieving something you couldn’t have done before, and most importantly that you have it in you to continue this amazing way of life! I could go on and on about why working out is so stimulating mentally, but I’m going to cap it here and write a post about it instead!
Join me in the Workouts and Tips section of my blog to find how to get the body you want, and reap all the extra benefits as well. While my working out habits are quite good, I cant say the sane for my eating habits! So I have created a Clean Eating section to help out those like me who have extreme sweet tooths and a love for food but want to eat healthier!
I started out as a fashion blogger and loved it for a very long time so naturally, I wanted to continue posting about fashion and beauty. Also, whenever I look good, I feel good so I I truly believe that fashion ties into feeling empowered and confident. I would describe my style as simple, comfortable, and chic! Feeling confident in your outfit will immediately boost your self-confidence. Personally, when I feel like I look good, I walk with a bounce in my step, a smirk on my face, and radiate confidence. It is a fact that a confident woman is the sexiest woman. HOw you perceive yourself, is also how others perceive you. The Fashion section will have my outfits of the day, lookbooks, and informational posts such as one of my most popular posts with over 10000 views, Swimsuit Guide- Swimsuits that are Best for Flat Chested Women (IBTC)!
Last but definitely not least, the travel section! My life would not be complete without the ability to travel. I was very fortunate growing up as I would often travel overseas because all of my family lives in Serbia ( I am a first generation Canadian). Financially-wise, it was not always easy to travel so often but traveling is a priority for my parents as well, so we made it work! We sacrificed certain tangible luxuries for dozens of memories, learning about new cultures, and seeing and experiencing unimaginably beautiful things! Travelling is a passion of mine and I want to continue traveling and experiencing new things and I hope to share these memories with you in the travel section. If you’re a travel lover or even a dreamer read the travel posts for my experiences, tips on traveling with a budget, and galleries of the places I’ve been!
